What is the role of an editor while making a movie?

An editor is one who alters the movie into a correct content. He/ she also checks for errors and gives the final touch to the movie.

It is all junk, as the film is made.The Editor prunes it and sets it in order and gives the film a form. Moreover, he checks the continuity which may be missing, sometimes.

Dear Abhinav, The editor plays a very crucial role in making of a movie, as the entire videos that are shot during the movie goes edited, keeping the final shot and deleting the rest. Also, the sequence of the scenes are finalized during the editing only.
