To ensure optimal birth spacing, she must arrange with the mother at the time of discharge and follow the essential measures for family planning counselling.</p><p dir="ltr">The expectant mother and her family must be advised to have the delivery handled at home by a skilled birth attendant such as an ANM, Staff Nurse, or Doctor if there is no operating health centre or hospital within reach or if the family prefers a home delivery.&nbsp;</p>
