All the Mechanical Engineering colleges in India follow a balanced approach as a part of their curriculum where there are semester exams every 6 months to test the students' understanding of the Mechanical Engineering subjects, along with individual and group research projects and presentations, and class assignments. The bifurcation is usually 60-40% or 30-70%, where the theory-based exams hold more weightage, followed by the practical component and assignments.

There are a few Mechanical Engineering subjects that might be easy to understand and help you improve your academic performance, like Mechatronics, Basic Fluid Mechanics, Basic Mathematics and CAD, etc. But again, this differs from one person to another based on their understanding and ability to grasp things.
Plus, if you want to improve your academic results, you should focus on understanding the core mechanical concepts, take help from reliable e-resources, and revise what is taught in the classroom on a weekly basis.
