    Hello Rahul,
    Scope depends upon the field in which you want to excel,
    -Food industry is diversified industry consisting majority of unorganized sector around 70%.
    -Processing of dairy is totally different from brewery industry, so it is all up to you in which field you want to excel in.
    -If you stick to a single field and master yourself in production and development, there would be many industries who would pick you up in a startup industry with good packages around 11.5 Lacs after good experience of around few years. Don't hope for getting jobs only in MNCs if you don't have good college background as mostly the MNCs recruiting takes

    Hello,
    Food Technology has a wide career scope in government and private sectors with the fast growing industry in India and abroad. One can get job in food processing industries, research laboratories, hotels, soft drink factories, rice mills, hospitality industry, packaging industries, manufacturing industries and distilleries. Candidates who have completed their Masters and Ph.D. degree can work as lecturers in colleges/universities. Food processing companies need persons in the departments like Production, Quality Assurance, R&D (Research and Development) etc.

    Ample amounts of job opportunities are available in front of Graduates in Government as well as Private sectors. Competition for job posts is less, since there are relatively lesser number of Colleges offering this course and thus lesser number of students pursuing it. Thus, landing a good job is relatively easy, when it comes to Food Processing and Technology field.

    Hi Rahul,
    Looking at future for food technology, it is obviously very promising. Universities and colleges around the globe are adopting this branch of food Science into their curriculum. Degrading soil, polluted environment and water shortages will rise as major problems to the humankind. These outcomes of rapid growth will bring with them the need to produce high quality food with efficiency. We need people who can use technology to produce optimum quantity of food that meets the daily nutrition needs of human beings. This is where food technology specialists come in.
