The scope of animation and gaming is vast. Apart from films and educational sector, animation is also used in product designing, virtual training videos, interior designing and medical animation to name a few. Indian economy is emerging at an exceptional pace embracing fields with new technology that is why animation and gaming sector is growing faster than others.
As mentioned before this is a vast field, you have many options to choose from. The salary would depend on your performance, but with a good studio you can expect a good starting package around Rs.18,000 to Rs.20,000.
    All the best.

Job prospects for animators are rising at a very fast pace thanks to the boom in the entertainment and gaming industry. Animation with time has got a good hold over movies, television and advertising industries due to the excessive use of special effects. Full-length animation movies are in great demand. A single animation film requires as many as 500 animators, which means huge employment opportunities. The animation is one of the concrete, lucrative and demanding career options which serves both entertainment and education (e-learning) industries alike.
