What is the scope for biomedical engg. in comparison with chemical engg., can one opt for chemical engg.? If so, how is its scope?

Biomedical engineering is an upcoming field and has gained a lot of research and industry interest in past few decades. Biomedical is a very huge field and has many areas where you can gain expertise and earn really well. Chemical engineering, on the other hand, is kind of a super specialised field which can also help you get a well-paid job. With BME, you may not get a good starting pay but eventually, you can have an exponential growth.
