    Hi Rasika, Six Sigma is a disciplined, data-driven approach and methodology for eliminating defects in any process from manufacturing to transactional and from product to service.It is a measurement-based methodology that focuses on process improvement and variation reduction. It is based on the organized application of a set of statistical/analytical and problem solving tools/techniques. This is 4-days certificate program consisting of 6 modules that is designed to teach the six sigma way of process improvement.     Six Sigma is an approach where a disciplined process is followed to understand the smooth and authentic functioning of a particular department. The department can consist of any organizational activity that helps in the over all achievement of the business targets.

    six sigma in layman terms is pure applications of stats to reduce the defects per million opportunities. many companies those who are particularly into manufacturing want to deploy some quality management including reduction of waste. It is a well paid job and your success depend on successful implementation of the project.
    Six sigma works on a hierarchal structure. It constitutes of White Belts, Green Belts, Black Belts and Master Black Belts. Each belt is distinguished from other on the basis of its skill level and scope in terms of process improvement.
