    Students with a degree in B.Sc Statistics are eligible to apply for various jobs in Banking, IT, Quality control, etc. They can even take up Actuarial Science as a specialization and join in various financial and share trading companies. Candidates with good flair and knowledge in Statistics are in huge demand in the present scenario.

    There is really nothing to do, as soon as you finish your graduation. You have to go another step, and do your Masters in Statistics, preferably from a good college (read ISI, IIT DU etc.). Once you have completed your Master's degree, you have two options primarily - job market or higher studies. ISI, TIFR, IITs provide you huge scope of further research, and you can also go to foreign universities. If you are interested in job market, I am not sure, how the situation will be after 5 years from now, but currently, the Business Analytics and Data Sciences is a hot sector, and freshers from a good college can earn around INR 8 LPA on av

    A student pursuing B.Sc. Statistics can expect job positions like Statistician, Risk Analysis, Actuary Manager, etc. , from companies like Cognizant, IBM, Infosys, etc. The average salary ranges from INR 450000to 800000 per annum and increases with time and experience.

    With a Bachelors degree in Statistics, one can become a business analyst, research officer, data analyst or even an investigator. Statisticians are also required in the government sector to work on studies and research on consumer prices, fluctuations in the economy, employment patterns, population trends, etc.
