Civil engineering is still a fruitful option with several construction companies and metro rail corporations emerging. In public sector there are opportunities for civil engineers in academics, PWDs, public health engineering and water authority and irrigation departments. Entrepreneurial opportunities are limitless. Remember, dreams are not what you see in sleep, dreams are those that do not let you sleep.

The scope of civil engineering in India is diversified.
As per the recent statistics, around 30% of nations working population depend on construction and its allied activities for their livelihood.
Construction is the 2nd largest economic activity in the country next to agriculture.
I say it is DIVERSIFIED because it is very difficult to quantify the scope. It is that huge.
The scope of Civil Engineering in any country covers planning, execution and maintenance of fundamental structures that are required for the functioning of a community & society like
    Administrative/ Residential buildings,
    Roads/ Highways,
    Bridges / flyovers,
    Irrigation,
    Hydr
    ...more
