    I myself did my M.Tech from NIT and had friends in IITs and many other colleges. So, let me clear it for you. Placement scenarios for civil engineering is pretty much same everywhere, and it is the worst compared to other branches. IITs have much better record in this aspects, as they are consultants for many civil engineering firms. Placements are guaranteed and many professors have good tie up with industry giants. And, thus you will get job somehow even if it is not through placement cell. NIT stories are average and has tie up with industries and consultants to regional companies as well.
