There is no such scope after doing M.Com from a distance or Open University. Rather, I would suggest you to go for regular M.Com from a good college.

There is some scope but not like a regular M.Com. Many companies are not keen enough to absorb a candidate holding a distance degree.

There are many good options after completing M.Com, like you can appear for NET exam, and if you successfully qualifies, it then you are eligible for pursuing Ph.D from good reputed Institution and can move to the teaching line at college level, and otherwise you can also apply for government jobs which requires master degree. You can also go to private sector.

There is no such great value of open M.Com courses. Better to go with regular course from any of the institution. It would be beneficial for you than doing it from open.

M.Com is a traditional course. If you complete it with good percentage, there are UGC approved colleges which offer you job prospects along with NET or SET or Ph.D. qualification. Rest as compared to MBA, M.Com has not equal value.

A degree from IGNOU shall not be considered as a normal distance learning course. It had some worth, more than other correspondence or distance courses. IGNOU had a name for open education and had always keep quality in contents for most of the courses. The scope of M.Com or possibilities are:
    1. Take UGC NET or the State Level Teaching Exams and do Ph.D in the Commerce domain.
    2. Doing research or working as a consultant.
