What is the scope of M.Sc in physics?

    After completing Bachelor degree, you can pursue a master degree in Science. It is the best choice for Science graduate students. The scope of M.Sc is very much demanding & you can gain a respectable job in this area after completing the programme with good grades. There are various specializations that one can pursue in M.Sc programme. In each and every specialisation, opportunities are available in Medicine, chemical, petrochemical & Polymer industries.     M.Sc Physics graduate can get jobs in Research labs, academic and education institution, atomic and space organization, meteorology departments, medical industry etc. , and can work as Research Scientist, Lecturer/professor, medical physicist, radiation physicist etc. A fresh graduate of this course can expect an average annual salary of INR 1 Lac to INR 2.5 Lacs.

    Hi,
    There are many options that you can choose after your post-graduation. You can grow your career in public as well as in the private sector. There will be no effect of your graduation marks but You are eligible to take this exam if you have a minimum of 55% marks in your Post graduation. If you want to choose your career as a Junior Research Fellow or an Assistant Professor then you can apply for the NET JRF Exam. You also can find various opportunities in a governmental organisation like DRDO, VSSC, ISRO, SSPL, etc. You can also apply for jobs in Energy Plants, Automobile Industry.

    M.Sc in physics will land you in various government jobs relating to research and development. But, I have popularly seen people entering teaching field after that. But, I would recommend you to continue your studies in the same field to become a scientist.

    Hi,
    M.Sc. Physics degree can find employment in private as well as in Government sector. One can look for jobs in research labs, medical labs, academic institutions, IT field, technical field, automobile industry and various government-owned Scientific Research and Development Organizations. Other than these options a Physics graduate has the option even to step ahead for civil services for which one is supposed to clear civil service exams conducted by UPSC. Thanks!

    Government Career after M.Sc in Physics-
    M.Sc in Physics graduates can pursue their career in various government owned Scientific Research and Development Organizations such as Defense Research and Development organisation (DRDO), Physical Research Laboratory Ahmedabad, Nuclear Science Centre New Delhi, Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics Kolkata, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) and Indian Space Research organisation (ISRO).
