What is the scope of M.Sc. in sociology other than being a lecturer?

Teaching field is the best one in India, currently wherever you go. The scope of M.Sc in sociology is very less.

MA Degree is an obvious option for any graduate in sociology and possesses the opportunity of furthering the knowledge base in the field of sociology. Not to forget, only after MA. You can proceed to do an M.Phil or Ph.D in the subject. Thus, MA is an essential part of excelling in the field of sociology. Any graduate or a professional can pursue the degree of MA in sociology for its general yet knowledgeable nature to enhance their social knowledge and skills. One should not forget that technical skills are not sufficient enough to survive in the world as you have to deal with people at one point or other in your life. A general understanding of how societies or culture are formed or work is important for that. M.A. Sociology can also be pursued or rather important to be pursued for teaching at school, college or university level. For B.Ed degree a Masters is required in sociology, for lectureship you require UGC NET qualifications which you can only qualify when you have a Masters. Lastly, A Master’s degree is anyway great to enhance your educational qualifications and gives a good look to your CV. Hope you got your answer. Thank you.

Scope is very limited currently in India. Teaching would be your best hit in finding a decently paid job.
