It is a branch of engineering that deals with technical aspect of ships. This particular subject is named so because of the researches conducted in the oceans, coastal regions or inland waters connected to the sea. Marine engineers are responsible for the ships technical management. They select the machinery of the ship like its diesel engines and steam turbines and gas turbines. They are equally responsible for the design of mechanical, electrical, fluid and control systems throughout the ship.
