Your question has been posted 2 years back but still relevant until 2021. This is the very question that one questions to himself/herself while doing the Post graduation. I don't think that we should ignore the future scopes in rural area as it has much much potential which is still to be penetrated. Still in 2021 there 70% of the rural population which is totally ignored when we talk about development or policies. Our whole India wanders around that 30% Urban and lazy population. Rural India is an emerging market untapped for a long time and now many companies are focusing on it. It has good career scope in sales, planning, business development, marketing and strategy. Many MNCs including fortune 500 companies hire MBA from rural management. However, you need to choose the right institute, either IIM or Institute of Rural Management or of TISS kind. Not all are good and all institutes offering the course do not offer good placements.
