UPES offers a total of 3,010 seats for the BTech/BTech (Hons) course. Admissions to these seats follow two categories: the non-exam category, which allocates 10% of seats through JEE Mains and 10% through Board Merit, and the exam category, where seats are filled based on UPES Examination and other tests conducted by the university. The total seat intake for BTech/ BTech (Hons) course is 3,010. Up to 20% seats shall be filled through the non-exam category (10% through JEE Mains and 10% through Board Merit). In case of seats following vacant in this category; UPES has the right to fill these through UPES Examination. University also reserves the right to conduct further CBT/ pen-paper/ online test for admission. The selection for BTech course is based on JEE Main/ CUET/ SAT India and merit of the candidates in the last qualifying exam.
