The selection to B.E./B.Tech at Government College of Engineering, Kannur is done based on the following criteria:

The candidate should pass 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as core subjects, with a minimum of 50% marks (45% in case of reserved categories).

Entrance Exam Admission to the B.E./B.Tech course is mainly based on the KEAM conducted by the Government of Kerala. For some categories, the admission is also done on the basis of scores obtained in JEE Main.

Merit-Based: The final selection is on the basis of the performance by the candidate in the entrance test and sometimes, even academic credentials.
