KBPCOE decides admissions through a process that primarily relies on performance in Maharashtra Common Entrance Test, MHT CET or the JEE Main exam. The candidate must achieve a qualifying score in one of these entrance exams to secure a seat in the engineering colleges. Apart from this, Class 12, HSC board exam score of the candidate is also taken into consideration, mainly with regards to Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The admission process has a centralized counseling system conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra, which actually bases seat allocations on both merit and preference.
