What is the selection criteria for CAT (IIM)?

All the IIMs usually follow a two-step selection process. First, short-listing on the basis of CAT score and then what and PI rounds for the short-listed students. 1. Common Admission Test (CAT) 2. Written Ability Test (What) and Personal Interview (PI) Most of the IIMs give maximum weightage to Personal Interview and CAT score for admissions. However, factors like academic cut-offs, past academic performance, relevant work experience, gender diversity etc. Also play a major role in the final selection. CAT cut offs varies according to reputation of IIMs, The minimum overall CAT cut off of IIM-Kolkata for various categories are as under. 1. General 90 2. NC-OBC 85 3. SC 70 4. ST 70 5. PWD/DA 70 The weightage of various components contributes in selection are as under. 1. CAT 25% 2. PI 35% 3. What 10% 4. 10th Marks 10% 5. 12th marks 5% 6. Graduation Marks 10% 7. Work experience 10% Apart from this sectional cutoff is also an important factor and candidate must have secured the minimum cut off marks of 80 percentile in each I. e QA, DILR and VA.

Hello, To be eligible to appear for the CAT conducted by the IIMS, one must have a score of at least 50% marks in his/her graduation. Good luck for it.
