    The main requirement for getting into a B.Tech degree is passing an engineering entrance exam. The basic requirements vary according to the college:

    1. Concerning IITs:

    - To be eligible for JEE Advanced, one must pass JEE Main.

    - Selection is based on the ranking of JEE Advanced scores. 

    - For the general category, a minimum of 100–120 points out of 300 are needed.

    The primary selection criteria for admission to B.Tech programs is passing one of the engineering entrance exams. The required minimum scores differ based on the college:

    1. Regarding IITs:

    - Pass JEE Main to be eligible for JEE Advanced

    - JEE Advanced score ranking determines selection 

    - A minimum of 100–120 points out of 300 are required for the general category.

     

    2. Regarding NITs and IIITs:

    - Take the JEE Main examination.

    The cutoff is determined by the branch chosen and the college assigned.

    A minimum score on the JEE Main merit list would be between 5,000 and 10,000.
