Entrance tests are the main component of the selection process for B.Tech admission in India. There are also other phases of counselling and seat distribution afterward. For admission to the B.Tech programme, entrance tests such as the JEE Mains, JEE Advanced, and University-Specific tests are necessary. After receiving your entrance exam results, you must sign up for counselling sessions offered by the relevant state agencies or organisations like JoSAA for IITs and NITs.

The selection process of engineering (B.Tech) is centralised and very simple. Students must be basically eligible with minimum 50% score in 10+2 in PCM or PCMB. The minimum score for GENERAL students needs to be 90+ percentile and for SC/ST students it requires minimum 40+ percentile in JEE MAINS score.
