The general selection process for B.Tech in India involves the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main. The minimum JEE Main score required for admission to B.Tech courses varies depending on the institute and the state. For example, candidates need to score at least 75% marks in class 12 or be in the top 20 percentile to get admission in NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. For candidates belonging to a reserved category, a minimum of 65% marks is required to get admission to different undergraduate courses offered at NITs, IIITs, and other CFTIs. The JEE Main exam is held for three separate courses: BTech, BArch, and BPlan.
