Indian Engineering Services (IES) are the civil services that meet the technical and managerial functions of the Government of India. IES examination is conducted by UPSC to fill engineers requirements in railways, roads, defense, manufacturing, inspection, supply, construction, public works, power, telecommunications, etc. All appointments of IES are to the Group A services i.e Class I. Candidates selected through IES have the opportunities to grow up to the top posts in central government organisations.
