well its derived from vedic maths. lets say the two numbers are ab and cd. so the third digit is b*d. if there is a carry, keep it aside and just write the units digit. the second last digit is (a*d+b*c+ carry from previous operation. Again if aa carry is there, keep it aside and just write the unit
