  • West Bengal Civil Service WBCS exam is conducted to recruit candidates for the state civil service. The exam is considered the toughest because of the enormity of the syllabus and the nature of the exam. The candidates need to appear and clear all the stages of the exam. There are four groups of services for which recruitment is made through the exam. The low success rate in the WBCS exam can be attributed to the high number of applications for a meagre number of vacancies in the exam. The total number of candidates who apply for the WBCS exam is around 2 to 3 Lacs and the total number of vacancies in the WBCS exam always remains low.
