What is the syllabus & exam pattern of the SET ? What should my preparation strategy be?

This is an offline exam of 150 question of one marks each on correct answer. Time duration for this exam is two and half hours. Question are from Logical Reasoning, Legal Reasoning, Analytical Reasoning, Language Comprehension and General Knowledge. 30 questions from each section makes the total of 150 questions. In Logical Reasoning and Legal Reasoning, questions are quite simple and these question are just testing the skill of the students and how they think about any social things. For this, regular reading habit and practice of previous year question paper is enough to score better. In Analytical Reasoning, questions are from simple maths upto class 10th level such as Average, Profit and loss, Percentage and many more for this student has to study whole class 10th important topic to cover this section in exam. In General Knowledge, questions are from the current affairs which is easily solved by regular newspaper and reading Pratiyogita Darpan. In Language Comprehension question are from English language related problem for testing the verbal and non-verbal English of student for this candidate need to make their grammar strong which helps them to score better marks.

The SET BBA question paper is divided into four sections, I. e. General English Quantitative Aptitude Logical Reasoning and General Awareness. SET exam is conducted in the computer-based test mode and the duration of the exam is one hour. Each section has multiple-choice questions. Every question carries one mark and there is no negative marking. The total number of questions is 60. The Analytical and Logical Reasoning section has 12 questions and the rest of the sections have 16 questions each. For the Logical and Analytical Reasoning section, practice is the only way to score well in this section. Going through the previous years' papers will give you an idea about what to expect and an insight into the difficulty level of the exam. To prepare for the General English section, read and practice a lot of comprehension passages, and work on vocabulary and grammar. For the General Awareness section, read newspapers and magazines to stay updated with Current Affairs the latest trends, history, and geography. You can also refer to reference books for static GK. For SET preparation, go through at least the previous five years' question papers to get used to the exam pattern and understand the difficulty level. The next step would be to capitalise on your strengths and work on your weaknesses. While giving the exam, focus on the sections that you are best prepared for.

Hi, Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) is the entrance test for the entrance exam for law degree program at Symbiosis University. The question paper comprises of 150 multiple choice questions carrying one mark each. The test duration is 2 hours 30 minutes. There is no negative marking for wrong answers. There are five sections with each section carrying 30 marks each. The five sections are Logical Reasoning, Legal Reasoning, Analytical Reasoning, Reading Comprehension and General knowledge. The exam is offline. Now coming to the preparation part, the preparation does not differ much from preparing for other entrance exams like CLAT or AILET. People who fear maths have nothing to worry about as maths is not asked in this. Apart from this, the focus areas should be vocabulary portion, current affairs, puzzles, direction test among others. SET is the entrance test for Symbiosis. The exam pattern is similar to other law entrances, with common topics from which questions are asked. There are 150 MCQs that the candidate has to answer in 2.5hours. Hence, time management is important while attempting the paper. There is no negative marking and equal weight is given to each section. Therefore, all sections are equally important. Also, since there is no negative marking, the candidate should aim to answer all questions. The paper is divided into the following sections (with inputs on how to prepare): 1. Logical Reasoning - Practice is the only way to master this section. Going through previous year's papers will give you an idea about what to expect. 2. Legal Reasoning - These questions are mostly application of a legal principle. This may be a novel concept for students and hence, one should look at the previous years papers in order to get a hang of it. 3. Analytical Reasoning - Again, practice is what is need for this section as well. 4. Reading Comprehension - Brush up your English, read legal passages, take free online tests to test your knowledge of the subject and work on it, 5. General Knowledge - This is the widest section which covers everything from legal knowledge (both static and current), history, geography, etc. Preparation: Pick up universal Guide to LLB and prepare from it, cover to cover. Once you are through with that, you can pick up other books focusing on separate areas to hone them better. Strategy: For preparation, go through previous 5 years papers to get used to the pattern. Next step would be to focus on your strong areas and make them stronger. While giving the exam, focus on sections that you are best prepared for. This will give you a good momentum for the rest of the paper. You morale will also be boosted.
