What is the system of merit lists? Is it that people who are wait listed get a chance in the 2nd merit list?

Hello, people selected in the first merit list stand a chance for upgradation in the second list. Also the people in the waiting list get selected.

If you're in the waiting list, then you definitely stand a chance. So those who get selected in the first list are given a certain time to pay fees and confirm admission. Some of them do, some don't. hi i just wanted to know that I am neither selected in the 1st merit list nor the waitlist still is there any chance to get selected in the subsequent lists by any means? and evrytym evry new list will have different waitlists?
