for appearing in ias exam age limit is between 21 - 30 years. you have just 4 chances to appear in exam. an ias officer retires at the age of 60 however sometimes extension in given in service period.

You can apply for IAS until you become 35+ i.e you can't apply for IAS exams if your age is more than 35 years.
