The Indian Economic Service IES is a Group A gazetted service in the central government of India. After joining the service, IES officers go through 16 months of training, just like all other members of the top civil services. The training phase is divided into the following parts:
1. Foundation course training at LBSNAA of IES
2. Training on Economics at the Institute of Economic Growth in Delhi
3. Training and attachment at various national-level institutes across the country
You need to have a postgraduate degree in economics or a related degree such as applied economics to apply for this service. -
