Hello Annie, It is good to get knowledge about the paper pattern before start the preparation for the exam. According to UGC NET guidelines, exam pattern is provided below. UGC NET exam has two papers that are - Paper 1 & Paper 2. Paper 1 consist common General Aptitude Test, which consists questions based on Reasoning Ability, Comprehension Reading, Mental Ability, and General Awareness etc. Paper 1 contains 50 questions each of 2 marks. Paper 2 consist of 100 MCQs type questions based on subject which you have selected in application form, each of 2 marks. There is no minus marking on any negative answer. Exam pattern is the same for all the subjects taken by the NTA UGC NET. Previously exam was conducted in three Paper. NTA UGC NET has changed the exam pattern from July 2018.
