The National Educational Testing Bureau of the UGC conducts NET to determine eligibility for lectureship, Assistant professor, and for an award of JRF for Indian nationals in order to ensure minimum standards for entrants in the teaching profession and research.
Eligibility Criteria:
Students who have secured at least 55 percent marks in a Master's Degree or equivalent examination from universities or institutions recognized by UGC in Humanities and Social Science, Computer Science, Applications, Electronic Science, etc. are eligible for the NET exam. 2 years agoThe National Testing Agency NTA has been entrusted by the University Grants Commission (UGC) with the task of conducting UGC NET which is a test to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for 'Assistant Professor' and 'Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor' in Indian universities and colleges. Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Masters Degree or equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognised by UGC in Humanities (including languages) and Social Science, Computer Science & Applications, Electronic Science etc. Are eligible for this Test.
