The recognition of IITians is increasing in the world. With Sunder Pichai from IIT Kharagpur becoming the CEO of Google, most of the software companies are now looking for IITians to run their workforces. Bill Gates and Warren Buffet have openly said that they have found IIT graduates as one of the smartest "breed" in the world and are looking for them. Though the ranks of IITs in the overall listing of Universities is not very impressive, but still their alumni continue to dominate major companies of the world. I would say in the end, it all comes down to the effort you put in, the hard work you've done and the circle of people you've

IIT degree across the globe hold a premium stature. In fact, all companies across continents aspire to hire engineering from IIT. The alumnus is considered to be the sharpest minds in the world. The figures can be cross check if possible that there would be around 35K+ engineers across US and Canada till late 2016. That because of two reasons:
    1) The average rank of IITs is above the rank of many good universities abroad.
    2) Indian market can't afford the money the international markets offered to alumnus.
