    The University of North Dakota (UND) was established in 1883, six years before North Dakota became a state. If we talk about accreditation, then UND is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). Also, UND is a Carnegie Doctoral Research institute. In other words, it is a top-tier research university with an international reputation for research in nutrition, health sciences, energy and environmental protection, aerospace and engineering.
