In Mithapur, Patna, Bihar, India, there is a collegiate public state university called Aryabhatta Knowledge University It bears the name Aryabhatta after the Indian astronomer.
It is recognised and approved by AICTE, with a few major exclusions. Any college in the state that offers a professional degree programme must be linked with the university by law. It has four schools as well:
Geographical studies center.
The River Studies Center.
center for mass media and journalism.
Economics Patliputra School.
