    Assam University is a central university established by an act of Parliament in 1994. It has two campuses, one each in Diphu and Silchar. With a Grade B, the NAAC has certified Assam University. According to NIRF 2023, Assam University is ranked 100–151 in the University category. There are 16 schools at the teaching-cum-affiliated university that provide courses in the fields of Humanities, Languages, Environmental Sciences, Information Sciences, Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Social Sciences, Law, Technology and Management Studies.     Assam University is a centrel university in silchar . It is know for its wide campus and the strong faculty member with wide allumuni network . It provide more the. 40 course including engenering/MCA/ LLB etc. .
