What is unique about Manipal School of Architecture & Planning?

In 1980, The Manipal School of Architecture & Planning became part of Bangalore University and was known as the Department of Architecture. Later, in October 2003, MAHE (Manipal Academy of Higher Education) rebranded the department as the Faculty of Architecture, and in April 2018, it was further renamed as Manipal School of Architecture & Planning (MSAP). In 2010, MSAP became the 22nd institute of the Manipal Academy of Higher Education in Manipal, India. MSAP offers a range of courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including Architecture, Urban Design, Interior Design, Fashion Design & Management, and Sustainable Design. It has received recognition for its academic excellence and ranks highly among architecture colleges in India. According to IIRF-2023, it is ranked 2nd among all top private architecture colleges. Outlook-ICARE in 2022 ranked it 3rd among all private colleges, while NIRF 2021 placed it at the 18th position among the top architecture schools in the country. Additionally, Outlook-ICARE, the weekly news magazine, ranked MSAP as the 2nd best private college, and India Today recognised it as the 9th top architectural college in India. MSAP holds the recognition of the Council of Architecture (CoA) in New Delhi, India, and is an Institutional Member of the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) in New Delhi.
