NIT Mizoram is one of the newly established NITs in 2010. The best part about this university is it's scenic location. It's new establishment does not get in the way of its academic expertise. Being located in one of the most educated states of our country with a literacy rate of 91%, the university offers a wide range of BTech M.Tech and PhD courses in the field of engineering. Even though the university does not have a permanent campus yet the infrastructure including the classrooms, laboratories are very well-equipped for student's hands-on learning and research purpose. NIT Mizoram is an Institute situated in the scenic beauty of Mizoram, wrapped between clouds and mountain rocks, which adds to its beauty. Being amongst the most educated states of our country with a literacy rate of 91%, it beholds a very peaceful and calm environment suitable for studies. The Institute, to cope with the present competitive needs, comprises of laboratories with the latest equipments and installed with best & the latest softwares.The Innovation Hub constitutes the Institute Innovation Council (IIC) of NIT Mizoram under the direction of MoE, GOI. IIC comprises Members (faculty and student) from each department and three external Members are also present. The Innovation Hub of NIT Mizoram is presently under the mentorship of Dr. Saurav Suman, Coordinator, Innovation Club. The Council conducts activities guided by the IIC calendar and featured under the IIC portal deliberated on a quarterly action plan in synchronization with activities and initiatives of other departments, centers, and facilities in the Institute working towards promoting IPR, Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Start-ups. The innovation Hub conducts workshops on relevant topics, organizes innovative idea submission drives, and mentors work on novel ideas.The Hub has signed MoU with National Innovation Foundation (NIF), Ahmedabad, Mizoram Science and Technology Innovation Centre (MISTIC), Aizawl, Mizoram. The Hub received a “Certificate of Recognition” in Promising Band Category in 2021 from ARIIA under MoE, GOI.

Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) is a flagship programme of the Government of India to bring in Cultural Integration of the country with a vision to build New India by 2022. The Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India is coordinating the activities under EBSB. In this flagship programme every state and union territory of India is covered and paired with one another to carry out the activities. As such the state of Mizoram is paired with Bihar and Tripura and specifically NIT Mizoram is paired with NIT Agartala of Tripura and NIT Patna. Under this scheme a number of cultural activities are carried out with the motive of understanding one another and learning from each other. Currently Dr. Suman Majumder, Asst. Prof., Dept. of EEE is the Nodal officer for this.
