Living on campus at Whittier College is better. Students are required to live on campus unless they meet the exemption requirements for off-campus housing. If students want to live off campus they also have to fill out financial hardship form. The college has five residence halls some of which are homes to these communities. In a theme community, students live together in a certain section of the residence hall and take part in activities that align with their shared interests on the social, intellectual, and personal fronts.
