Autonomous Institute: Affiliated to a Govt. University but does not follow its syllabus or curriculum. VJTI, Mumbai
Non-Autonomous Institute: Affiliated to a Govt. University and follows its prescribed syllabus & curriculum. MIT, Pune
Private University: Has its own course structure.
