    AFMC students have compulsory liability to serve as Commissioned Officers in the Armed Forces Medical Services. The offer of the type of commission Permanent Commission (PC) or Short Service Commission (SSC) will depend on the vacancies available. The candidates' parents/guardians are required to sign a bond agreement at the time of admission. If AFMC doctor is offered SSC then the tenure of SSC officers is of 05 years, extendable by another 09 years in two spells first of 05 years and second of 04 years. If AFMC doctor is offered PC then it is a life time job and officer can only resign his commission with approval of the President of
