    Hi Siddharth
IAS is the Indian Administrative Service while IPS is the Indian Police Service. Union Public Service Commission in India conducts examinations for both IAS and IPS. An IAS personnel handles governmental affairs and are absorbed in the administrative setup, while IPS are personnel that take up the challenging responsibility of maintaining law and order in the society.
