What kind of jobs can I get after completing my B.Pharm course?

Various Career options in India after completing B Pharm or M Pharm: 1) Pharmacist- The B Pharm graduate can work as a hospital Pharmacist, like wockhardt hospital, Apollo hospital, etc. Being in the health-related field, the B Pharm graduate can also joined arm forces as a pharmacist or else can join any govt. hospital or any NGO , trust etc. 2) Medical Transcription- The B Pharm graduate can work with medical practitioners (doctors) to maintain the patient treatment history, the drug to which he/she is allergic etc. Also some private company hired B.Pharm graduate to help them in translating medical terms they received from other or same country doctors. 3) Sales and Marketing- Good communication skills with pleasant personality can opt for the job of Medical Sales Representative (MR-Ship Job). The companies prefer pharmacy graduates for this job, as they have a good knowledge about the drug molecules, their therapeutic effects, mechanism of action of drug and the drug drug interactions. Ambitious achievers can grow in this filed up to the level of MD, Zonal manager or product manager etc. of the company, so just be focus during this job and work hard till you achieve what you want. 4) Quality Assurance / Control Manager- The Pharmacy graduate can maintain the quality of the manufactured drug in the company. She/he has to look for any update in the regulatory norms and accordingly developed the drug in the pharmaceutical company. She/he is working as a Quality assurance or quality control officer/manager in various companies. 5) Production- In various pharmaceutical companies Pharmacy graduate are maintaining the production plant of the company. Various tablet, capsule machineries are have to handle and manufacturing a lot of drug supply have to be done in a fix time along with maintain the quality of the same. 6) Research and development- R&D jobs include developing new formula or changing the exciting formula to better one 7) Packaging- Some additional packaging certificates or courses can help you to grow in the field of packaging for pharmaceutical products. As its essential part of the manufacturing cycle. Packaging must be done in a better way to avoid FDA drug withdrawal and to avoid loss and damaged to the drug during transport. 8) Regulatory affairs Manager- Some CROs (contract research organisation) and various pharmaceutical companies are hiring a pharmacy graduate to work as Regulatory affair Manager.

There are lot of scope. I am going to talk about the paths commonly opted by students: Getting a job directly after B. Pharma: Graduates who do not wish to pursue post graduate studies or plan on doing them later try to get jobs after B.Pharma. Jobs are usually offered in the field of sales and marketing. Some also work as pharmacists in hospitals whereas some are able to secure jobs at manufacturing facilities of pharmaceutical companies. Some also set up their own pharmacy. MBA after B. Pharma: Some students pursue MBA after B.Pharma whereas some pursue it after gaining a few years' experience (usually in sales and marketing). Depending upon your talent, qualifications, and how good your MBA school is, students are offered jobs in higher management of pharmaceutical companies. Pharma MBA is also offered by some colleges in India.M.Pharma after B. Pharma: Students interested in academia and R&D take up M.Pharma. M.Pharma can be done in many fields like pharmaceutics, pharmacology, pharmaceutical chemistry, clinical pharmacology, pharmacognosy, biotechnology, etc. M.Pharma graduates either join the industry as scientists or as lecturers in universities. Some M.Pharma students pursue a Ph.D. which is required to become a professor in good Indian universities. A lot of Ph.D. holders also join the industry. (There is a difference between a lecturer and a professor) MS/PhD after B. Pharma: Motivated students who pursue undergraduate research and gain experience via internships along with good scores in college can apply for MS or even direct Ph.D. programs abroad. GRE and TOEFL/IELTS may be required depending upon the country and university. The competition is usually very cutthroat as you are competing with applicants from all over the world.LLB after B. Pharma: This is a very uncommon route. Some B.Pharma graduates pursue LL.B and become lawyers. They usually later specialize in pharmaceutical jurisprudence, intellectual property law, patents, etc. Hope this helps.
