Scoring well in entrance exams and having a good profile will add for a good prospect. The cut-offs from the previous year will be available on the DTE website which will provide an indication.

Clearing the accepted entrance exam would get you a call for the in-person-assessment. For clearing this second stage, one should have a thorough understanding of current affairs, about work experience (if any) etc. Question about cut off percentile has already been answered.
