What kind of questions are asked in NIFT's entrance exam?

NIFT Exam Pattern: - NIFT will test the candidate’s knowledge, skill and aptitude for the programme chosen by them. Those seeking admissions to NIFT B. Des programme have to appear for Creative Ability Test (CAT) as well as General Ability Test (GAT). Shortlisted candidates will be required to take the NIFT Situation Test also. General Ability Test (GAT) for NIFT Bachelor of Design (B. Des. ) consists the following :- English comprehension, quantitative ability, communication ability, analytical & logical ability, general knowledge and current affairs. Aspirants can also check topics for situation test, group discussion and personal interview. Creative Ability Test (CAT) for NIFT Bachelor of Design: - CAT will judge the intuitive ability, power of observation in concept development and design ability of the candidates. An important aspect of the test is to evaluate the creative and innovative use of color and illustration skills. General Ability Test (GAT) for NIFT Bachelor of Technology (B. F. Tech. ) syllabus consists the following :- Quantitative ability, Communication ability and English comprehension, Analytical and Logical Ability, General Knowledge and Current Affairs and case study. Situation Test for NIFT Bachelor of Design (B. Des.):- The shortlisted candidates after the written entrance examination will have to appear for the situation test, which will be a hands-on test to evaluate the candidate’s skills for material handling and innovative ability on a given situation with a given set of materials. No additional material will be provided/allowed to them.
