    Hi Shanmugaperumal,
    The main difference is that the CAT score is one of the mandatory requirement to study in Indian top B-schools like IIMs. However, if you are planning to study abroad, the GMAT score is required and not CAT. First your planning must be clear and you need to evaluate which exam is more appropriate for you. Both the tests have different test formats, score validity, fees, etc. GMAT is one of the toughest exams and by far more competitive than CAT as it adds a global perspective. The verbal section, integrated and critical reasoning sections in GMAT are more tough. Also you can appear the GMAT up to five times in a year

    CAT is for primarily Indian B-school and GMAT is for India as well as overseas. The main difference is that the CAT score is one of the mandatory requirement to study in Indian top B-schools like IIMs. However, if you are planning to study abroad, the GMAT score is required.
    Both the tests have different exam format, score validity, fees, etc. GMAT is one of the toughest exams and by far more competitive than CAT as it adds a global perspective. The verbal section, integrated and critical reasoning sections in GMAT are tougher. You can also appear for GMAT up to five times in a year. However, CAT can be taken only once a year.
