    SGBAU, Amravati is a public state university established initially to cater to the educational needs of the rural population and has its jurisdiction within 5 districts namely Amravati, Akola, Yavatmal, Buldana and Washim. The university focuses on the upliftment of the backwards and downtrodden classes by receiving substantial grants from the funding agencies such as UGC, DST, DBT, AICTE, DRDO, DAE and various others. SGBAU, Amravati has been rated grade “B+” by NAAC in the fourth cycle of re- accreditation in 2022.
