What makes Vardhman Mahavir Medical College & Safdarjung Hospital different from others?

<p>Situated on the Ring Road in the center of New Delhi, across from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), lies the multispecialty Safdarjung Hospital.</p><p>Before the All India Institute of Medical Science was established in 1956, it was the sole tertiary care hospital in Delhi. It started serving as a training and teaching hub for University of Delhi post-graduate students in 1962. The hospital and its teachers were part of University College of Medical Sciences from 1973 till 1990<strong>.Safdarjung Hospital is connected to Vardhman Mahavir Medical College (VMMC), which was recognised by the Medical Council of India (MCI) and founded by the Indian government in November 2001. VMMC is affiliated with Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University.</strong></p><p>&nbsp;VMMC is roughly 10 km from the New Delhi Railway Station and 16 km from the Indira Gandhi International Airport. It is located in Ansari Nagar, close to the AIIMS Hospital in New Delhi.<strong> </strong></p><p><strong>According to the NIRF 2021 Ranking, it is ranked 18th in the Medical category.</strong></p>
