    Dr.Goutam Chatterjee well said, but in my opinion if student wants to pursue a course which has blend of IT and management and subjects, then pursuing MBA-IT would be a good option, besides MBA in IT, a engineering graduate may also opt for MBA in operations or Finance as their specialization, I would request CLIND Gautam Joshi anjani jha to share their expert opinion this.

    - Business/IT alignment.
    - IT Governance.
    - IT Financial Management.

    If student wish to pursue himself in IT then
    MBA (IT) or MBA (Systems) will be the best,
    After all its his/her's wish to pursue MBA(HR,FINANCE, MARKETING etc)

    Vikram Kohli good point made, pursuing MBA after having relevant work experience surely enhance the career prospects, but as fresher a student who wish to make career in IT industry should opt for MBA in IT or MBA in marketing or finance.
