    There are a ton of courses available for learning. Your aim should be not just to study a course for the sake of putting it in your resume but also to do as many projects as you can. This will help you build your portfolio. Such a portfolio will attract employers and academic institutions alike. Anyone can mention they know a list of skills, but only a few can prove it. In my personal opinion, simulation or automation courses are the best BET as we are currently moving towards an era where computers are integrated with engineering systems.
