    You should have at least secured a rank under 5K to get admission in good government colleges (should at least 350 marks to be in the safer zone).

    For that you have to score under 6000 rank, only then you will be able to get a good government college for mechanical branch.

    You should never aim for clearing the cut-off, rather than focus on getting the best out of you and score as many marks as you can putting all efforts and dedication towards the exam.
    Set your goals high so that lower ones are automatically achieved.
